Two holidays

“The Differences among Holidays”

All holidays can be divided into two categories. The first group is the family holidays and the second group is the national holidays. Of course, there are some differences in the ways they are celebrated.

A birthday, for instance, is a family holiday. It is usually celebrated in the home among the relatives or very close friends. Other people may not know about this family holiday and if they even know about this holiday it doesn’t affect their lives. At this family holiday you feel comfortable because you know everyone and have with him or her close relationships. In addition, you often give heartful gifts and greetings for this holiday.

In contrast, a national holiday, for example Independence Day is celebrated outside all over the country. Everybody knows about this holiday and it affects everyone’s life. Sometimes when you are celebrating it with other people who aren’t relatives or friends on a street you may feel uncomfortable, because you don’t know them. We also give each other gifts on this holiday. The gifts may be heartful but usually these presents are just symbolic ones.

Despite all differences between these two categories of holidays we like holidays at all. It doesn’t matter where and how we celebrate them but we do this forever and everywhere.
